My primary interests lie in understanding how environmental, nutrition, and social exposures lead to health disparities and adverse pregnancy outcomes for pregnant persons of low socioeconomic status, and how these exposures can be mitigated to improve health for underserved populations. I find the link between socioeconomic adversity and commensal microbiota fascinating and aim to understand how this association promotes health or disease states.
